    President University Student Union (PUSU) established on August 23, 2008 in Jababeka, Cikarang. President University Student Union (PUSU) based on the principle of from, by, and for the students by giving a bigger role and flexibility towards the students; President University Student Union (PUSU) is a student organization that has a purpose to enrich the students’ lives during their study in President University with constructive extracurricular activities that support the process of leadership character building. 

    President University Student Union (PUSU) has several functions that are: to implement and execute students’ aspirations as set by President University Student Council, to facilitate, support, and develop the students’ potentials, talents, and interests and to foster the establishment of a conducive learning environment for the students of President University.

    On our last period, which is next semester, we have prepared some of the best events that you must join and shall not to be missed. There are seven events that PUSU will conduct and some of the events are opened for outside PresUniv students. That is so cool, isn’t it? Therefore, we will discuss in this article about what those seven events are that we have prepared so you will not be missed by these events. Then, what are we waiting for? Let’s start!

    1.      Grant of Hopes (September 21st, 2013)
    We will start this semester by doing something nice to others through this event. Grant of Hopes (GoH) is a charity event conducted by Non-Art division of Student Activity Ministry PUSU 2013. We will visit an orphanage in Bekasi and we will do a charity activity in that orphanage. For your information, GoH has done a pre-event activity by collecting the wishes of kids around our campus on April until July. How cool is that, right? So, if you have any questions or you might want to donate something to the orphanage, you may ask directly to this account: @grant_ofhopes.

    2.      Coaching Clinic part 2 (September 25th, 2013)
    If you are from Batch 2011, you are recommended to participate in this event, Coaching Clinic. The reasons is this event helps your ability and performance on the coaching programs into suitable employment, develops confidence, prepares skills for interviews, and builds strong team-work in the real workplace. On this second part, the activities will be centered in team work skills. Even though this event is fitted only for batch 2011, we are very open for batch 2012 and 2013 to also participate in this event. To make it more interesting, this event is only open for 100 seats.     3.      Song Writing Competition (June – October 2013)
    If you have a hobby in making a song or writing lyrics, Song Writing Competition is a good event for you. Song Writing Competition is a part of President University Idol competition, therefore the winner of SW competition will be a winning song for the winner of PresUniv Idol. With the theme “Star Accession – Feel the World through your Voice”, this competition expects you to create a song for the next winner of PresUniv Idol 2013. Additional information, this competition is open for Jabodetabek region.     4.      President Youth Leadership Camp (October 10th – 13th, 2013)
    This is the biggest region scope event that PUSU conducts. President Youth Leadership Camp or PYLC is an external event that will invite Senior High School Students and first-year college students in Indonesia. This event is made with purposes as a media to enhance their leadership skill and other soft skill developments such as public speaking, teamwork etc. The theme for this year’s PYLC is “Great Leaders for a Great Nation”. There will be exciting activities such as Seminar, Workshop, Visiting an Instance, social activity, class session, and this camp will end with Conference; a forum to discuss about selected topic given and produce solution about the topic.     5.      President University Idol 2013 (October – November 2013)
    This is an annual singing competition at President University. The theme of this event is “Star Accession – Feel the World through Your Voice”. In this competition, you will get a chance to have an experience of being a singing idol at this university. You will be able to introduce your voice to the whole campus. The registration will open in around September until October. The grand final will be held in the beginning of November. We can guarantee this is the coolest singing competition on the campus and something that you will not want to miss.

    6.      President University Youth Character Builder (November 16th, 2013)
    Similar with Song Writing Competition, this event seeks a target participant in Jabodetabek region. President University Youth Character Builder or PYCB is an event that will help you build your character. Moreover, this event is using a method named Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP); an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy. This NLP system has been used by some of famous people, for example Merry Riana, Bong Chandra, Bill Gates, and even Barrack Obama. The trainers come from professional institution, which is already certified from the United States, and has trained some big corporations such as Pertamina, Toyota, and more. There will be only 100 seats available in this event and the Open Registration will officially open on Monday (August 19th, 2013).     7.      Club Award and Degree (November 16th, 2013)
    The last event we will conduct is Club Award and Degree. This is an event that will invite all Clubs and Communities under the supervision of PUSU to gather and appreciate their contributions and hard working in one year period. There will be an interesting agenda containing interesting items such as some categories of awards, performances from some clubs, legalization of communities, and introduction from the communities that have become clubs.

    According to President University Student Union (PUSU) Constitutions, here are the administrative meeting(s) and Summit(s) that PUSU have. The interpretations of the following meetings are based on Cabinet agreement that endorsed by By-laws:

    SUMMIT(S)

    Summit is meeting that PUSU has with other organization that structured vertically, including PUSC and Student Activity Unit

    General Summit of PUSU with President University Student Council (PUSC)
    General Summit is meeting when PUSU report its yearly workplan to all PUSC members. The summit will also be held in the end of PUSU period as the accountability meeting of PUSU to PUSC. A summit will be held upon the request of PUSC

    First General Summit of PUSC and PUSU was held in 1 February 2013

    Plenary Summit of PUSU with Student Activity Unit (Clubs)
    This is the meeting to execute Article 12 (5) and (7) of Constitution of PUSU. The plenary meeting of PUSU with Clubs will be held twice in every period. The first plenary will be held in the beginning of cabinet period. The purpose of this meeting is to collect all clubs workplan and revised Club by-laws if it is necessary. The second Plenary with clubs will be held in the end of cabinet period. The purpose of this meeting is to collect and evaluate accountability report of clubs.

    Communication Forum

    Communication Forum is forum to execute Article 12 (6) of Constitution of PUSU. The forum is attended by all representatives of existing Student Activity Unit (Club) and prospective Student Activity Unit (Community). Communication Forum is also purposed for PUSU to assist and control both Clubs and Community programs. For Community, this forum is the place for assessment and evaluation of performance before they are eligible to be legal club. Communication is conducted once per semester.

    Ministerial Meeting
    Ministerial meeting of President University Student Union is the meeting attended by minister of President University Student Union and all members under a specific department in President University.

    Special Meeting
    Special meeting is the meeting held and attended by all members of PUSU in case there is thing related to Bylaw article 9(nine) point (4) (discharge of member).

    Exclusive Meeting
    Exclusive meeting of PUSU will be held if it issued by President of PUSU to discuss issues out of General Meeting, Ministerial Meeting, Special Meeting and Plenary Meeting. Exclusive meeting also may hold with purpose to revised Constitution of PUSU under the agreement of PUSC.

    As the new Cabinet of President University Student Union (PUSU) 2013 has been selected, we have the very first Plenary Meeting (Part 1) with the entire new member. The meeting discussed the first phase of PUSU work plan, which is Preparation Stage, explanation of Work Plan from Ministry of Cabinet Secretary and Finance, also the preparation of Inauguration.

    JANUARY 11th
    INAUGURATION
    The new PUSU cabinet has an Inauguration along with the new member of President University Student Council (PUSC), and President University Major Association (PUMA). On the same day, we also have the Plenary Meeting (Part 2) that discussing about the Work Plan of Ministry of Student Activity, Self-Development, and Communication.

    EXECUTIVE MEETING
    The Executive (President, Vice President, and Ministers) proceed to the Executive meeting and discussing about the Preparation for General Open Recruitment Committee.

    GENERAL OPEN RECRUITMENT
    General Open Recruitment for Committee of the Event (Grant of Hopes, English Workshop, and Coaching Clinic) opened for 5 days.

    This is the event held by PUSU 2013 in order to celebrate the Chinese New Year and involving the International Students in President University as well. International Friendship Week consists of a series of event that held from 9 – 14 February 2013.

    This event held by PUSU in order to accommodate the students to give their aspiration about PUSU 2013.

    The second Plenary Meeting was discussed about the monthly ministerial report that has been done from the first Plenary Meeting.

    To strengthen the relationship between PUSU and PUSC, both organizations held a gathering in purpose to get to know each member from PUSU and PUSC. The gathering purpose also to create a better communication between PUSU and PUSC, so it can maximize the work in one year ahead.

    The event was held to help college students, to solve the internship problem. The aimed is to help the Students of President University to progress their ability and performances into capable employment, guide and encourage participants to develop their confidence and employability skills, and offer appropriate information, advice and guidance to help them overcome their barriers to work.

    ENGLISH WORKSHOP
    PM :EndinZainudin - Skill and Knowledge Division PUSU Cabinet 2013
    The event was held to develop students’English skills, specifically in the area of written English which are Academic English such as writing essays, reports, and theses; Business English which covers on how to write business letters, résumés, and application letters; and General English which focuses on common mistakes or common errors in terms of structures, vocabularies, and grammar that students usually do in their everyday-life writing.

    RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE EVALUATION
    PUSU Research and Development Affair evaluated their work in SOPU 2013.

    OPENING SOPU

    The 2nd PUSU Aspiration Day with the theme “Dare to Speak Up!”was conducted by PUSU and hope the students can share their aspirations about PUSU without hesitation. PUSU Aspiration Day II was held all day, from the morning until the evening.

    PUSU Study Comparative was held in order to learn more about BEM from UI and strengthening relationship between PUSU and BEM UI.

    The sixth Plenary Meeting was evaluated about the PUSU second phase, discussed the result of Study Comparative, report from each division and PUSU’s Point Development.

    JULY 19th
    PRESENTATION NEW COMMUNITY
    The new established community needs to present their organization to PUSU to get the Legal Supervision as the Legal Community in President University.
