International friendship week will be held at dormitory area 7 pm February 17th - 19th 2014
This event will
be conducted for a three-day period. In the first day, we will conduct the
Opening Ceremony. We shall give a brief introduction to our event theme and
what we seek to achieve during these three days. We will conduct a Baazar on
the second day, in which we will have games stands and food stands which sells
various cuisines from different cultures. Our games support the value of team
work, involvement, and of course, friendship. On the last day, which is the
Closing Ceremony, we have various cultural performances by the students, and
everyone is free to wear traditional
costumes from any culture.
We come up with
one fun activity, which is the concept of the Wishing Gate, a culture adopted
from Japan. Students are free to write their wishes in small papers and tie it
to the gate. They are then able to read other wishes from their fellow friends.
For all our activities, we charge no entrance
fee; our events are open for free to all President University
students. The entire event is conducted
in the dormitory area, open to all and non-formal. We are careful in preserving
the multicultural environment.
The values that
we impose here is, even if we come from different cultures, we are still
friends, and we achieve that through involvement. This event is purely for fun.
Through the Baazar, Wishing Gate, and cultural performances, we hope that all
President University students will become closer and embrace the sense of
friendship amongst each other.
